Upholding my responsibilities or Kuleana is one of Maui Prep’s 10 Commitments to Living Aloha for the 2017-2018 school year.

“It is an honor to fulfill my kuleana to our school and ‘ohana. I feel grateful that our students thrive and grow year after year under the guidance of kind and dedicated teachers and among a nurturing and inspiring community,” states Maui Prep Fund Chair, Jojo Vasquez.

The Maui Prep Fund is the cornerstone of the school’s fundraising efforts and the primary fundraising vehicle. As an independent school, Maui Prep does not receive any state or federal funding, so there is a “difference” between the cost of operating the school and the tuition received.

Starting this week, parent captains will be meeting with their “binder group” and explaining the importance of the Maui Prep Fund. This parent coffee is new this year; and was planned with the intention of garnering excitement for the Maui Prep Fund as well as connecting the community.

Meeting together to discuss ways to improve your children’s education is something every parent can get behind and support. The goal of 100% parent participation will benefit the students of Maui Prep by providing funds for performing arts, digital media, Science Olympiad, VEX Robotics, gardening, paying athletic coaches, campus upgrades, bringing in motivational speakers, 7AM Band, Arts Night and more.

Join the parent captains for coffee this week and find out more about how you can make a difference in the education and experiences your child receives from Maui Prep.
