Middle and Upper School STEM Faculty (full-time/permanent): Maui Preparatory Academy is seeking qualified applicants to fulfill a need in our Middle and Upper School Science Department beginning in the 17/18 school year. Candidates qualified to teach a wide variety of STEM classes are preferred. Place-based class topics include Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, Environmental Science, Robotics, and Engineering. The ideal candidates will deliver a practical, hands-on approach to their classes, will leverage west Maui’s natural resources and incorporate an “outdoor classroom” philosophy into appropriate portions of the curriculum. Teachers who are well-versed in coaching students to incorporate and develop higher order thinking skills are highly preferred. “Sages on stages” need not apply. Individuals with a related master’s or doctorate degree are preferred. Most classes for this position will be taught at the middle school level.  Advisory duties will be included in the position.  Candidates willing to serve as part-time residential faculty within our boarding facility are strongly encouraged to apply.

Candidates with AP experience are especially encouraged to apply. Possible courses include Geography, Ancient Civilizations, Hawaiian History, US History, World History, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Human Geography. Teachers who are well-versed in coaching students to incorporate and develop higher order thinking skills are highly preferred. The preferred candidate will have experience in essential question driven courses. Individuals with a related master’s or doctorate degree are preferred. Advisory duties will be included in the position.   Candidates willing to serve as part-time residential faculty within our boarding facility are strongly encouraged to apply.

Development and Marketing/Communications Coordinator (DMCC)
Reports to: Head of School
Job Summary: As a member of the senior staff, the DMCC will be responsible for those programs and events relating to fundraising, parent programs, public relations, communication, and alumni affairs, with an emphasis on collaborating with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, parents, students, alumni and volunteers to carry out the development, implementation and monitoring of such programs and events.

Girls Volleyball Coach: Maui Prep is seeking a highly qualified varsity girls volleyball coach for the upcoming 2017 season.  The season runs from August to mid-October.  A stipend is available for this part-time position.
