Michael Manafo
Dr. Michael Manafo, Middle and Upper School Principal
Dr. Mike Manafo comes to Maui Prep from St. John’s School in Guam. There, Mike coordinated the Advanced Placement and the International Baccalaureate programs in addition to serving as Academic Dean and teaching IB Asian and European History. He has spent most of his career as a teacher or administrator in the American International schools in Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Thailand, and Taiwan. Dr. Manafo holds an undergraduate degree in secondary education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania; his masters and doctoral work is in international education and secondary school administration completed at Harvard University. Mike’s wife Lee is also an educator and currently teaches at Kihei Charter School. Completing the Manafo clan is Molly (Grade 7) and Toby (Grade 5), both enrolled at Maui Prep. All are thrilled to be in beautiful Hawaii and to be part of the Maui Prep ‘ohana.’
