Erika Huck, Pre-School Teacher

Preschool teacher Erika Huck was educated in Lucerne, Switzerland, graduating with a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Zurich. She founded a successful physical therapy practice, leaving it to marry and move to the United States in 1993. Arriving on Maui, Erika noticed the need for quality childcare and went on to study child development, eventually earning her CDA Preschool certification. Erika has been working at Maui Preparatory Academy as a Lead Teacher since the opening of the Preschool program in 2006. She has had over 15 years of experience working with this age group. Erika works closely with each parent and child to meet the needs of the child’s personality as well as his/her emotional, social, physical, and intellectual development. Her individualized approach to working with and supporting this growth and development is comprehensive and holistic. Erika has the reputation of being a creative, sensitive, and nurturing teacher who listens and works well with parents and their children.

Erika is an avid reader, traveler, and student of languages. Her healthy, balanced lifestyle involves time with family, relaxing on Maui’s beautiful beaches, and practicing Yoga to rejuvenate and energize herself. Her children, Sarafina and Santana, both attend Maui Prep.
