Summer Reading, Assignments, Textbooks and Supply Lists

We love to read!

The purpose of Maui Prep’s summer reading is to continue to foster a love of learning beyond the school year. Below is a list of the summer reading books and assignments for Summer 2017.

Lower School(K-5th)
Maui Prep recognizes that children who read continuously throughout the entire year are more likely to progress academically at a higher rate.  The Maui Prep Lower School strongly recommends that each student in kindergarten through 5th grade either read or be read to a minimum of 20-30 minutes per day over the course of the summer.  There are no required books to read and no required summer assignment; just have fun reading.  We encourage families to find books that best suits the reading level of each child.  Below is a variety of suggested summer reading books from the American Library Association (2014 -2016).  Families are also encouraged to utilize platforms such as IXL, SplashMath, or TeachMe throughout the summer to keep current in their child’s math progress.
