Interim Week

Jazz/Rock Band

Middle and Upper School students spent a week of their academic year focusing on immersive, expeditionary, field based learning. Maui Prep’s Japanese language students traveled to Tokyo and Kyoto, where they saw Japan’s  modern and traditional culture.

Maui Prep’s Interim Program offers Middle and Upper School students hands-on, experiential learning opportunities both on and off island. This special week of learning takes place in mid-February. The Interim Program, uniquely designed to challenge students beyond their perceived learning and comfort levels, encourages participants to interact with students and faculty members from multiple grade levels. This program offers students the opportunity to sharpen their problem solving skills, engage in service learning activities and develop self confidence by taking on foreign challenges. Ideally, this program provides students with an opportunity to grow as confident and compassionate learners, peers and stewards of the world around them.

During one of our first interim weeks, Maui Prep students travelled to Breckenridge, Colorado for an amazing week of skiing and snowboarding.
