Summer Programs

The Maui Prep Summer Program for 2011 will consist of a “Summer Camp” format. We have designed a wonderful curriculum for the kids which should be loads of fun and educational at the same time. For More Information About Our Summer Program Click Here!

This year, the kids will spend part of their time with our Camp Counselors. These are upper and middle school students who will be helping our Camp kids have a great time while learning a lot. The main Counselors will be high school students, and they will be assisted by our Counselors in Training, great young people from our middle school.

Also present to help all participants make the most of the camp will be our Camp Leader, Ms. Swierkos. She will be there at all times to make sure that all our kids are enjoying their activities and learning at the camp. Along with the Summer Program Director and the Specialty Teacher for the day, a total of at least 3 adults will be at the Camp at all times in order to make sure things are running well.

In addition, the kids will have more specialized instruction in different areas with our Specially Teachers, who are there to let kids enjoy “hands on” learning in their area of expertise. More on this in a moment.

The schedule is designed to give families maximum flexibility to help make the most of your busy summer.  The Summer Camp will be offered over a four-week period.   The dates are as follows:

June 6 – June 10
June 13 – June 17
June 20 – June 24
June 27 – July 1
Each week the camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids may attend the Camp for any or all of these four weeks. Each week will consist of a wide variety of activities to keep the kids entertained, active and engaged. Some of the time will be spent with our wonderful Camp Counselors. These periods will consist of academic activities as well as outdoor fun such as sports, games and playtime.

Also, each day the students will have special classes which focus on specific areas. Depending on the week, kids can have a great time learning things such as:
Science and Fun Experiments
Music and Dance
Scrapbooking
Photography
Arts and Crafts
Fun with Languages
And much more. These special classes will be taught by various teachers to provide lots of variety for the kids.
