The Maui Prep student body is a community of nearly 300 preschool through 12th graders from the Lahaina community and beyond!
Just for parents!
Being a part of the Maui Prep ‘Ohana is a wonderful opportunity to get actively involved in our community. It’s also a great way to develop lasting relationships with the families in your child’s grade, while providing an important service to the school.
The Maui Prep Parent Teacher Student ‘Ohana (PTSO) seeks to enrich the lives and education of the children of Maui Preparatory Academy and to serve the school by supporting its mission, programs and activities.
Hats, Caps and Sunglasses
Hats, caps, hoods, or sunglasses must not be worn indoors.
School shirts (from Lands End) are required and are the financial responsibility of the parents.
Shirts must be clean, neat and in good repair. Shirts in the wash or laundry are not an excuse for being out of dress code. Gently used shirts may also be purchased from the PTSO.
Students may wear skirts, pants, or shorts that fall between the knee and mid-thigh (good taste and modesty is expected from students, but final determination in this subjective area will be given by a faculty member) Also, bottoms should rise high enough to cover underwear at all time.
Sweatpants, gym shorts, and low-rise style pants are not acceptable. Tight-fitting bottoms such as leggings, jeggings, or yoga pants should be worn with tops long enough to ensure modesty.
Shirts may be worn untucked; as long as they cover the beltline of the shorts, pants or skirt. No cropped or cut-off shifts. The student's midriff should always be covered.
Hair must be neat, clean, trimmed, and kept out of the eyes. Hair color must fall into the range of “natural tones.”
Friday Spirit Wear
In order to increase school spirit, all students are permitted to dress in Maui Prep logo-wear every Friday. This includes Pueo t-shirts, athletic team attire or other appropriate official logo wear.
Jackets and Sweatshirts
Jackets and sweatshirts with Maui Prep logos may be worn inside the classroom. This includes sweatshirts distributed as part of the athletic program.
Jackets or sweatshirts with hoods must have the hoods off of the head at all times in the classroom.
Shoes that support an active lifestyle must be worn by all grade level students. Shoes for students in grades Preschool-8 must have straps or closed backs for safety. At no time should students be on campus without proper footwear.
Upper School students may elect to wear slippers; however, they must keep closed toe/back shoes on campus for science labs, field trips and other courses that require foot protection. Closed toe/back shoes must be worn at all times on the sports court.
