Pueo Athletics Round-Up: March 31, 2025

Boys Golf 

 
PUEO DOMINATE ON SENIOR NIGHT, REMAIN UNDEFEATED!
 
The Pueo Boys Golf Team continued their impressive run in the MIL with a commanding victory over rival Seabury Hall (143–203) this past Friday during a special Senior Night matchup at their home course, the stunning Kapalua Bay Course.
 
It was a memorable and emotional send-off for seniors Landon Long, Chris Salem Jr., Renner Chumley, Kai Shively, Arjun Patel, Khai Mullen, and Logan Kalar, who wrapped up their final home match in style—undefeated at home for four straight years! Their leadership and consistency have helped define a winning culture for the Pueo Golf program.
 
With this latest win, the Pueo remain unbeaten on the season. The team now sets its sights on two key matches this week:
  • Wednesday, April 2nd vs. King Kekaulike at Pukalani Country Club
  • Friday, April 4th vs. Maui High at Waiehu Golf Course

PUEO GEARS UP FOR SENIOR NIGHT AFTER HARD-FOUGHT MATCH VS. MAUI HIGH
 
The Pueo Tennis teams returned to action for the second half of the season, facing a formidable Maui High squad in their fourth match of the season. Despite strong effort and competitive play, the Pueo Girls fell 5-0, while the Boys team came up just short in a close 3-2 battle.
 
With these results, the Pueo Girls Tennis team moves to a 2-2 record on the season, while the Boys team stands at 1-2-1. Both squads are now turning their focus to finishing the season strong.
 
This Friday marks a special moment for the program as the Pueo host their final home match of the season—Senior Night—at the beautiful Kapalua Tennis Courts. We will honor our dedicated seniors for their commitment, leadership, and contributions to Maui Prep Tennis.
 
This year’s seniors include:
  • Johnnie Holland – Team Captain and 4-year starter
  • Samantha Teschler 
  • Alissa Skolnick
  • Andrianna Glass
We invite the entire Pueo ‘ohana to come out and support our tennis teams as they take on West Side rival Lahainaluna. Matches begin at 2:30 PM—don’t miss the opportunity to cheer on our seniors and celebrate their lasting impact on the program!

PUEO MAKES WAVES AT MIL SURF MEET #2
 
After a two-week break from competition, our Pueo Boys and Girls Surf Teams returned to the water for MIL Surf Meet #2 at the iconic Ho‘okipa Beach Park this past Saturday. With the waves rolling and the sun shining, both teams shook off the rust and delivered strong performances in a competitive field.
 
Team Results:
The Pueo Girls Surf Team claimed 3rd place overall, while the Boys Surf Team also powered their way to a 3rd place finish, showing resilience and skill across all heats.
 
Individual Highlights:
  • Sloane Jucker (Girls Heat 1) and Zolten Poulsen (Boys Heat 1), both juniors, surfed with confidence and poise, earning 1st place finishes in the respective top heats.
  • Noah Richard and Zoey Offergeld impressed with 3rd place finishes, demonstrating strong wave selection and consistency.
