Investing in Maui Prep is an investment in personalized success.
We believe the true value of a private education lies in relationships and dedicated attention. Our intimate ohana community ensures that your child is known, supported, and challenged across every domain—cognitive, emotional, social, and physical.
We deliver a premier experience that goes well beyond the core curriculum: combining rigorous academics, a transformative Arts program, competitive Athletics, and personalized college counseling that guides every student to their highest potential.
At Maui Prep, the Lower School experience (Kindergarten through 5th Grade) begins, but doesn't end, in the classroom. We inspire young learners by offering a dynamic, hands-on education that emphasizes experiential learning, cultural immersion, and collaborative exploration.

Unique Cultural and Performing Arts Experience
The Lower School campus truly comes alive through our commitment to the arts and Hawaiian culture:
May Day Celebration: All students participate in the school's traditional May Day celebration, preparing for and performing authentic hula and wearing traditional costumes.
Musical Theater Production: Every child is cast in a musical theater production. Rehearsals are integrated into their weekly dance, theater, and drama enrichment classes, making the performing arts a natural and exciting part of the curriculum.
Athletics and Extracurriculars
Students have the opportunity to explore physical activities early, with the school offering afterschool athletics each quarter to introduce them to a variety of sports.
The Middle School years (6th through 8th grade) are a time of significant physical, social, and intellectual transformation. Maui Prep’s program is designed to guide students through this journey with small class sizes and strong student-teacher relationships that provide a supportive, personal environment.
Personalized Support and Academic Exploration
Advisory Program: Middle school students meet regularly in dedicated advisory periods. These groups are led by teachers who act as in-school advocates, offering critical support in areas such as time management, study skills, digital etiquette, self-awareness, and relationship-building.
Academic Rotation: Students rotate among subject-area teachers, ensuring they receive foundational knowledge in core disciplines.
Elective Focus: The 6th-grade year allows students to explore various electives before selecting their preferred areas of focus in the subsequent years, empowering them to discover their passions.
Middle School students are fully integrated into the broader life of the school, participating in major cross-divisional activities:
Competitive Athletics: Students can participate in afterschool athletics and compete in the MSIL (Maui Independent Middle School League) against other independent middle schools on Maui.
Interim Week: Students participate in Interim Week, an exciting experiential learning opportunity that often involves travel, deep dives into a specific topic, or off-campus exploration.
Musical Theater Production: Our students have the unique opportunity to join the High School in the annual musical theater production, building collaborative relationships and showcasing their performing arts talents on the main stage.
Upper School (9th to 12th Grade): College Prep and Leadership
Maui Prep’s Upper School offers a rigorous college-preparatory program focused on academic excellence, personal development, and global readiness. We empower students to thrive in a challenging environment and prepare them for success in college and beyond.
Comprehensive College Preparation
The Upper School experience is centered on preparing students for the next level:
College Application Preparation: Students receive personalized college counseling beginning in 10th grade, culminating in dedicated support to finalize and submit applications, including essays and school reports.
Advanced Academics: Students can earn college credits through Advanced Placement (AP) courses and dual enrollment opportunities.
Compulsory Community Service: Every student participates in a compulsory community service program, instilling values of civic responsibility and compassion.
Passion Project Seminars: Students participate in Passion Project Seminars to explore deep personal interests, fostering self-directed learning and innovation.
Interim Week: Students participate in the annual Interim Week, an immersive experiential learning opportunity that allows for deep exploration of specialized topics or off-campus travel.
Clubs and Leadership: Students have ample opportunities to form and participate in clubs, fostering leadership skills and pursuing personal passions.
MIL Athletics Requirement
We believe that athletics are integral to a well-rounded education. All Upper School students have a required participation in MIL (Maui Interscholastic League) athletics, promoting teamwork, discipline, and commitment as they compete against other high schools on Maui.
