Maui Prep's Hale System to Debut at Special Assembly

The Maui Preparatory Academy community will unite for a special, school-wide assembly on Wednesday, August 13, to officially launch the new Hale System.
Students were previously introduced to the four Hales during a weekly Friday assembly and will now be sorted into their respective houses. The Hales will congregate in the four quadrants of the Bozich Center, with Hale seating at weekly assemblies to foster camaraderie as students across divisions gather in their designated sections.
"Having implemented the house system at previous schools, I've seen firsthand how transformative it can be. It goes beyond student engagement, it builds culture," said Head of School Dr. Miguel Solis. "You'll see banners flying, shirts worn with pride, a sense of camaraderie in the air, and a spirit of friendly competition that energizes the entire campus. It's not just a program, it's a movement that brings students, faculty, and families together in ways that foster connection, school spirit, and leadership."
The Hale System is an initiative designed to unite students, families, faculty, and staff across all grade levels. Rooted in Hawaiian values and inspired by the 10 Commitments to Living Aloha, the system aims to foster a sense of unity, belonging, and spirited engagement. Each Hale is led by a Faculty House Leader and supported by one or two Lead Parents. Students are sorted in a way that keeps siblings together, and new members are ceremonially welcomed into their Hales each fall. Throughout the year, Hales compete in friendly challenges, earning points for academic achievement, leadership, participation, and spirit. At the end of the year, the Hale with the highest score is awarded the coveted Hale Cup 🏆.
