Maui Prep College Counseling: Personalized Guidance, Exceptional Results

At Maui Preparatory Academy, our college counseling program is dedicated to helping every student find the higher education path that best aligns with their personal talents and unique life goals. We believe in a highly personalized approach that ensures our graduates are prepared to succeed in selective colleges and universities across the country and around the world.

100% of Maui Preparatory Academy students are admitted and plan to attend college after graduation. We are committed to inspiring our students to explore, discover, and achieve their brightest futures.

The Personalized Journey

Our experienced college counselor and faculty are invaluable partners, fostering a strong advisory relationship that begins in high school. We work closely with students to:

Identify Best-Fit Institutions: We encourage deep self-reflection and critical thinking to discover a range of colleges that match and engage student interests.
Refine Applications and Essays: Through one-on-one meetings, students craft essays and applications that are a true reflection of their preparation and passions. A specialized College Counseling committee guides students through this process during the summer before their senior year.
Navigate Financial Aid: We provide essential assistance with navigating scholarships and financial aid.

The journey is formalized early on. All 10th-grade students enroll in the College and Career Explorations course, which includes preparation for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT, cataloging interests, and beginning work on the Common App.

Academic Excellence and College Exposure

Maui Prep students gain a significant academic edge, with the majority of graduates entering college with earned credits through Advanced Placement (AP) courses or dual enrollment opportunities through the University of Hawai'i. Our small class sizes allow for detailed audits of graduation requirements and classes that create well-rounded, college-ready students.

College Visits: Maui Prep hosts visits from more than 50 college admission representatives each year, including recruiters from highly selective universities.
College Fairs: Students have opportunities to attend college fairs on both Maui and Oʻahu.
