Maui Prep Alumni

Since opening its doors in 2005, Maui Prep has celebrated nearly 250 graduates. Even as miles and years separate our graduates from their time on the Napili campus, Maui Prep continues to celebrate accomplishments and life milestones of former students.

Alumni connect virtually through the Maui Preparatory Academy Alumni Association (MPAAA) or on campus each year at the annual Alumni Assembly prior to the Winter Break. The MPAAA is for all graduates of Maui Prep who seek to stay connected with former classmates, build community, and participate in networking opportunities.

  • How do I update my email in the Nest from my old mauiprep.org account

If a former student needs to change their Blackbaud ID (BBID) from a defunct school email address to a personal one, here's how they can generally do it:

The Most Common and Recommended Method: Self-Service through their Blackbaud ID Profile
Blackbaud ID is designed to be user-managed for situations like this.

    1. Go to the Blackbaud ID Profile Page: The direct link is usually https://signin.blackbaud.com/userprofile. The student can also typically find a link to "My Profile" or "Account Settings" within any Blackbaud-powered portal they use (e.g., the alumni portal, a giving portal).
    2. Sign In: They will need to sign in using their current BBID credentials (the defunct school email and the associated password). If they cannot sign in because the school email is completely inaccessible and they've forgotten the password, they may need to contact the school's alumni office for assistance (see "What if they can't log in?" below).
    3. Navigate to Email Address Settings: Once logged in to their profile:
      • Look for a section related to "Blackbaud ID" or "Authentication Settings."
      • There should be an "Edit" button or an ellipsis (...) next to the email address.
      • Select "Edit BBID email address" or a similar option.
    4. Confirm Identity: For security, they will likely be prompted to enter their current BBID password.
    5. Enter New Email Address: Type in the new personal email address they wish to use. They will usually need to confirm it by typing it again.
    6. Send Confirmation Email: Click a "Send email" or "Send confirmation code" button. Blackbaud will send a verification email to the new personal email address.
    7. Confirm New Email: They must check their new personal email inbox (and spam/junk folders) for the confirmation email from Blackbaud. This email will contain a link or a code they need to click/enter to finalize the change.
    8. Sign Out and Sign Back In: Blackbaud often recommends signing out and clearing their browser's cache after the change is confirmed, then signing back in using the new personal email address.

  • How can I make a donation to the school?

Supporting Maui Prep helps us continue providing an exceptional educational experience. You can securely make a gift online at mauiprep.org/giving. We also encourage you to ask your employer if they have a matching gift program, which can double your contribution!

    Types of Gifts:

    • 'Imi Ola Fund (Unrestricted Giving): This is the most impactful way to give, as it allows Maui Prep to apply your gift to the area of greatest need. These funds can support various essential areas, including athletics, arts, financial aid, classrooms and teachers, facilities and maintenance, or academic excellence.
    • Directed Gifts: If a particular program or experience significantly impacted you during your time at Maui Prep, you may direct your gift specifically to that department. It's a perfect way to give back to what you care about most!
    • In-Kind Giving: Non-monetary contributions, such as goods or services, are incredibly helpful for our fundraising auctions and other school needs.
  • How can I help organize a reunion for my class?

Reconnect with your classmates to strengthen old friendships and stay connected to Maui Prep! If you're interested in organizing a reunion, our Director of Advancement, Stephanie Kirkham, is here to help. She can assist you with contact information and support your planning efforts.
  • What are the different ways to support the school (e.g., volunteering, mentoring)?

Want to give back and connect with current Maui Prep students? There are many ways for alumni to get involved!

If you have a specific idea for mentoring that aligns with a particular class or subject, please reach out to Ryan Kirkham at rkirkham@mauiprep.org. He'll connect you with the relevant educator.

We also love to hear from our alumni at the Q&A panel during our annual Alumni Assembly, held on the last day of fall semester classes. It's a fantastic opportunity to share your experiences and insights with students.

Additionally, all volunteer opportunities posted by the Performing Arts department or the Booster Club are open to alumni! Come serve concessions at a Pueo sporting event, or lend a hand at Arts Night or a Performing Arts production. Visit mauiprep.org/booster to learn more.
