Paniolo Night Returns to Maui Prep

Maui Preparatory Academy is hosting Paniolo Night, a community-wide event scheduled for Saturday, September 26, from 5 to 9 p.m. This traditional event of "Games, Grinds, and Good Times" is back for cowboys and cowgirls of all ages.

The event will be held at the Maui Prep campus, located at 4910 Honoapi'ilani Highway in Napili. Admission is free, with food, drinks, and scrip for games available for purchase.

Eat!

  • Sample chili from self-proclaimed chili experts and vote for your favorite.
  • Enjoy classic BBQ hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixin's.
  • Grab a sweet treat from the selection of baked goods.
  • Adults (21+ with ID) can visit the Beer Garden.

Play!

  • Ride the thrilling mechanical bull.
  • Test your luck at carnival games to win prizes.
  • Take a shot at soaking a volunteer in the dunk tank.
  • Get creative with face painting.

Shop!

  • Browse and purchase unique items from local artisans and vendors.
  • Find one-of-a-kind handcrafted gifts and wares.
  • Visit the Rummage Sale and bring home some "new" finds.

Enjoy!

  • Listen to live music.
  • Catch a performance by students of Maui Prep.
  • Join in the fun with country line dance instruction (no experience needed!).

Volunteer Opportunities for Paniolo Night

The success of Paniolo Night depends on our volunteers! We hope students and parents alike will pitch in to make this a smooth and memorable event.

We have lots of fun ways to help out across three different time shifts, so you can find a time that works perfectly for your family!

Shifts:
  • 4:45 to 6:00 pm
  • 6:00 to 7:30 pm
  • 7:30 to 9:00 pm
There are roles for everyone! Middle School students may work with a parent—come join the fun and help us run the games!

Calling All Chefs! The Great Chili Cook-Off is Back!

Calling all amateur chefs and owners of coveted family chili recipes! ENTER YOUR BEST CHILI in our competition!

Compete for bragging rights and amazing prizes, including a golden spoon trophy and a fantastic prize for the Blue Ribbon Winner!

Ready to compete?
  • Sign Up: Will be open soon!
  • Delivery: Deliver your chili in a minimum 5qt slow cooker or Instant Pot between 4:00 and 4:30 pm on September 26. (Please label your container with your name written on tape.)
  • Judging Criteria: Creativity, Appearance, Taste/seasoning, and Spice/heat level.
  • Taste Test! After the judges have made their difficult decision, the delicious chili will be available for purchase by the whole 'ohana!
