📝 Reading Expectations & Annotations
These assigned books represent the minimum reading expected of our students this summer. True academic growth, college preparation, and intellectual curiosity come from embracing the challenge of reading consistently throughout the break.
As students read, they are expected to annotate the text and/or take notes on pertinent quotes that help address the specific questions outlined in their writing assignments. Staying active while reading will directly support students in two ways:
It will help them complete their summer writing assignments.
It will prepare them for graded classwork and in-depth discussions during the very first week of school.
Be sure to log on to The Nest or visit the Back-to-School portal today to review the complete writing prompts and guidelines before diving into your books. Happy reading, Pueo!
