Competing at the Kamehameha Schools-Hawai'i pool, Salem entered the finals as the No. 3 seed but surged ahead during the breaststroke leg to claim gold with a time of 2:08.58.

 

A dominant force in the pool, Salem is a seven-time MIL individual champion and has reached the state finals in the maximum two events every year of her high school career. This victory marks her first state title, improving on the silver medal she earned in the same event last year.

 

A multi-sport standout, Salem also holds several Maui Prep swimming records and is a key member of the two-time defending MIL champion girls' golf team. Last November, she signed her National Letter of Intent to swim for the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. Sacha is the daughter of Chris and Chea Salem.
