What is the Nest?

The NEST is Maui Prep's secure Student Information System (SIS) portal. For your student's safety and security, we keep a lot of important information on the private side, accessible only to parents and guardians of Maui Prep students.

You can find the login for The NEST in the upper right corner of mauiprep.org. If you've never logged in with your parent account before, please email Avamerrill@mauiprep.org with your name and preferred email address, and she will send you an invitation.

Once you're logged into The NEST, click on the RESOURCES tab for quick links to:
For parents of 6th-grade students and older, The NEST also allows you to view your child's class schedules, lesson plans, and grades.

Uniforms & Dress Code Guidelines

Uniforms & Dress Code Guidelines
Our dress code fosters school pride, mutual respect, and leadership readiness. When students dress with intention, it creates a positive, focused environment.

A Note for Families: Navigating dress codes can be challenging, and beachwear easily creeps into daily outfits. However, out-of-code attire creates awkward moments and can leave students feeling unfairly targeted. We appreciate your family's support in reviewing these guidelines together at home.

Students in violation of the dress code will be sent to the front office and required to change. If they do not have a change of clothes on hand, parents will be required to bring items to school before their student can return to class. Students will not be allowed to leave campus to retrieve appropriate clothing.

The Essentials
  • Official Uniform Shirts: Collared polos in any color with the embroidered Maui Prep logo, available online via Lands' End or through PTSO gently-used sales.
  • Shirts must be clean, in good repair, and sized appropriately to cover the beltline or be neatly tucked in (no bare midriffs).
  • Outerwear: Must have Maui Prep logo emblazoned
Upper School (Grades 9–12) Exceptions

  • Seniors: May wear logo-wear from colleges to which they have been formally accepted.

Dress Code Q&A

List of 6 items.

  • What bottoms should my student wear?

Pants, shorts or skirts must fall within a modest range between the knee and mid-thigh with no tears or holes.

Sweatpants, board shorts, gym shorts, and low-rise pants are not permitted for Lower and Middle School.

Leggings/Yoga Pants must be worn under long tops.
  • What shoes should my student wear?

Footwear is required at all times. Some teachers have students remove their shoes before entering the classroom.

For grades PS to 8th: Shoes must have heel straps or closed backs.

Bozich Center Shoes: Must be non-marking athletic shoes (check for the label, soft pliable soles, or test against white paper to ensure no black streaks are left behind).
  • What is approved outerwear?

Jackets/hoodies worn inside classrooms must feature the official Maui Prep crest or athletic logo, with a uniform shirt worn underneath.

Hats, caps, hoods, and sunglasses must be removed indoors.
  • What is approved spirit wear?

On Fridays, all students may wear Maui Prep spiritwear!

This includes Maui Prep logo t-shirts,  or Pueo athletic swag.

Check out our online store or the Booster Club concession stand.
  • Can my child use hair chalk, bleach, or temporary dye?

Grooming: Hair must be clean, neat, and in natural color tones (temporary non-natural dyes are not permitted). Body piercings are limited to ears and modest nose studs.
  • What are theme/free dress days?

Theme & Free Dress Days: Sponsored by Student Senate to boost school spirit. These days are not an excuse to dress immodestly—all modesty, length, and decency standards remain in effect.

If students prefer not to dress in theme, they should wear their normal school uniform.

Bozich Center Shoes

The Bozich Center gym floor has been completely redone in 2026! This high-end floor undergoes a scheduled resurfacing every 7 to 8 years, making this its very first makeover since the gym opened in 2020.

Because this specialized flooring is unique on the island, it requires extra care to stay in top shape. To help us preserve this facility, all K–8 students and Pueo athletes must have designated Bozich Center shoes.
Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
  • Indoor Use Only: Designated shoes must be non-marking and kept on campus strictly for use inside the Bozich Center.
  • PE Footwear: Shoes must be proper athletic sneakers. Crocs, sandals, and casual slip-ons are not permitted for PE.
How to Verify Non-Marking Soles:
  • Read the Sole: Look for "NON-MARKING" stamped on the outsole or tongue.
  • The Paper Test: If unlabelled, rub the sole firmly against a sheet of white paper. If it leaves a colored or black streak, the shoe is marking and cannot be worn on the court.
  • Texture & Color: Non-marking shoes usually feature gum rubber or white rubber soles with smooth tread patterns rather than heavy outdoor cleats or lugs.
  • No Black-Carbon Soles: Avoid shoes that feature heavy carbon-black rubber heels, as these are the primary culprits for deep floor streaks.
Thank you for your support in keeping our campus facilities looking great and performing at their best!
