👔 Uniforms & Dress Code Guidelines
Our dress code fosters school pride, mutual respect, and leadership readiness. Navigating dress codes can be challenging, and beachwear easily creeps into daily outfits; however, out-of-code attire creates unnecessary distractions. We appreciate your family's support in reviewing these guidelines together at home.
- The Essentials
Official Uniform Shirts: Collared polos in any color with the embroidered Maui Prep logo, available online via Lands' End or through PTSO gently-used sales. Shirts must be clean, in good repair, and sized appropriately to cover the beltline or be neatly tucked in (no bare midriffs). - Bottoms: Must fall within a modest range between the knee and mid-thigh (no tears, holes, or fringe).
- Not permitted for Lower/Middle School: Sweatpants, board shorts, gym shorts, and low-rise pants.
- Leggings/Yoga Pants: Must be worn under tops long enough to ensure modesty.
- Footwear: Required at all times. Grades PK–8 shoes must have heel straps or closed backs.
Friday Spirit Days: Students may wear official Maui Prep logo-wear (Pueo t-shirts, athletic team gear).
Upper School (Grades 9–12) Exceptions- Seniors: May wear logo-wear from colleges to which they have been formally accepted.
Outerwear, Grooming & Accessories- Classroom Outerwear: Jackets/hoodies worn inside classrooms must feature the official Maui Prep crest or athletic logo, with a uniform shirt worn underneath.

📚
Textbooks & School SuppliesTextbooks (Grades 6–12)
- Student-Provided: Families with students in grades 6–12 supply their own textbooks based on the official Required Booklist.
- Physical Copies Required: Each student must have their own physical copy in class—sharing or relying on digital versions is not permitted.
- Cost-Saving Options: Select textbooks can be leased directly through Maui Prep, or purchased used from upperclassmen. Stop by the main office if you need assistance tracking down your books.
Bozich Center Athletic Shoes (Grades K–12)
All students using the Bozich Center sports court must have a dedicated pair of non-marking athletic shoes stored in a labeled drawstring bag.
- How to Verify Non-Marking Soles:
- Read the Sole: Look for "NON-MARKING" stamped on the outsole or tongue.
- The Paper Test: If unlabelled, rub the sole firmly against a sheet of white paper. If it leaves a colored or black streak, the shoe is marking and cannot be worn on the court.
- Texture & Color: Non-marking shoes usually feature gum rubber or white rubber soles with smooth tread patterns rather than heavy outdoor cleats or lugs.
